BIOGRAPHY

Emma is 19 and has climbed for over a decade, transitioning through disciplines and competing nationally since she was 9 until finding her true passion - ice climbing - in 2011.  Within a year on the tools, she became a member of the GB Ice Climbing team (currently ranked 1st in the UK) and has competed in the UIAA World Youth Ice Climbing Championships five times already.  Amongst this, she manages to climb outdoors prodigiously, regularly touring both domestically and abroad.

"I am excited by the opportunity to work with Montane.  I am keen to use their products in my niche field of climbing and to represent the brand."

ABOUT EMMA

By her own admission, Emma only started climbing at age 7 as it was the only thing that could burn off her excess energy.  Its meditative quality allows her to ‘zone out’ and clear her mind whilst spending time with her Dad – the one who got her into climbing in the first place.

Fast forward over 10 years and Emma is gripped by the spirit of competition.  Competing for the GB team combines the famed social aspect of climbing with an invigoratingly competitive environment.  This competitive nature is galvanised by sorties outdoors;

"I love to ice climb outdoors and it excites me to find routes. Reading them as i climb."
